We repair the world by bringing people together to help one another.
Here's how:
1. We have a new narrative for life called PeaceBrook. In PeaceBrook:
- People help one another
- Have a thriving economy, and
- Grassroots governing councils that anyone can start.
2. Our big project is Good Money Chicago 2028. By the summer of ’28:
- You can buy most essentials with either your dollar- or time-based credit cards.
- Most people prefer to use their time rather than dollars because they can’t buy gas with time.
- Good money grows thriving communities by using both dollars and hours.
3. Here’s how a time-based credit card works. If I help you for an hour, I credit my account for that hour and debit yours. I can spend the hour I earned by asking someone to help me. You clear the hour you owe by helping someone.
Thus, time is real money:
- Helping people give and get the services and goods they need.
- Eg, if a clinic loses 20% of its funding, it can replace the lost dollars with the equivalent amount of time currency. Instead of laying Tom off, the clinic can pay him 80% of his salary in dollars and 20% in time currency. Tom can use his time credit to pay for part of his groceries. Mary can see a doctor at the clinic for $80 (instead of $100) plus an hour of time credit.

The purpose of our meetings is to connect through our conversations, so that after the meeting, we can explore ways to support each other with our work. Thus, during the first 30 minutes, people briefly introduce themselves and respond to an icebreaker.
